A Freightliner tractor and a colossal 53-foot overseas container loaded to the brim with an astonishing 36,000 pounds of toilet paper needed recovery experts off the ramp off North Cumberland Ave and exit I-90.
The tractor trailer rollover recovery team sprang into action and dispatched an arsenal of heavy-duty vehicles, including rotators, a heavy-duty wrecker, and light-duty flatbeds. Once on the scene, the team strategically sprinkled oil dry to curb any fuel, oil, or coolant spillage. The rollover recovery operation was executed flawlessly and they promptly towed the casualty back to the safety of O’Hare yard in Melrose Park.
Before being towed away, a thorough inspection by the Department of Transportation was performed on the casualty. A diligent cleanup crew meticulously eliminated any trace of the accident—oil, coolant, fuel, and even fragments of glass. The O’Hare recovery team proved once again that they’re the ones to call when needing heavy recovery. Great work, team!

O’Hare Towing Towing recently received a call from the Illinois State Police District Chicago for tractor trailer rollover recovery. A rolled-over tractor and loaded trailer with 36,000 pounds of toilet paper needed professional assistance off the ramp of Cumberland Rd and exit I-90 E/B.
The tractor trailer rollover recovery team of experts sprang into action, dispatching a fleet of specialized equipment and personnel to tackle the challenging recovery operation. These specialized vehicles were chosen to handle the specific requirements of the tractor trailer rollover recovery operation, ensuring a safe and efficient resolution.
Upon arrival, the tractor trailer rollover recovery team immediately implemented containment measures to prevent the spread of fuel, oil, and coolant. Light-duty flatbed 457 took charge of caging the tractor brakes and spreading oil dry to mitigate any potential environmental hazards. Simultaneously, rotator 902 and rotator 903 positioned themselves strategically, utilizing container slings and hardwood cribbing to facilitate the subsequent rigging process.
With the groundwork set, rotator 903 and rotator 902 worked in tandem to execute the roll-over maneuver. Additional equipment, such as oil dry and air-powered recovery catch bags, was brought in by these units to ensure a safe and controlled landing during the roll-over. Heavy-duty wrecker 321 was positioned on the ramp side to perform a pigeon tow on the tractor.

Rigging was meticulously set to maintain the container’s connection to the chassis while performing the roll-over.
